📺 A look back at my appearance on Zone Interdite: a few details

Last night, M6 aired a report on Zone Interdite devoted to private detectives. For several months, I agreed to be followed by the journalists in order to show the reality of my profession, far from the clichés and fantasies.

🔍 Why did you choose to testify openly?
It's a question that comes up a lot. In our profession, discretion is essential, and many colleagues prefer to remain in the shadows. But I've made the opposite choice, in all conscience. Why do you ask? Because our profession is still too little known and sometimes misunderstood, and I think it's important to present it as it really is. We are neither vigilantes nor spies, but professionals subject to strict regulations, often working in collaboration with lawyers and magistrates.

🎬 Final editing: editorial choices
Like any report, this one required many hours of filming, and in the end, it was edited down. Some sequences that were particularly important to me, such as those showing my work with a lawyer and my lectures at the law school, were not kept. I would have liked these aspects to have been highlighted, as they illustrate an essential facet of our profession: our anchorage in the legal framework and our link with the law.
But that's also the rule of the game when you agree to be filmed. We don't control the final cut, and we have to accept that. The main objective was to show a part of our daily lives, and I think that was largely achieved.

📢 An opportunity to raise awareness of our business
Beyond these editorial choices, this report had the merit of shedding light on the private detective profession and its role in the search for the truth. It's a fascinating, demanding and sometimes misunderstood profession. I hope that this documentary has enabled some people to better understand our commitment and our work ethic.
